Dow Corning, based in Midland, is purchasing 28,800 renewable energy certificates for 2010 and 2011. According to a company press release, the certificates purchased are equivalent to the amount of energy projected to be used at Dow Corning's Corporate Headquarters which will help balance the environmental impact of the site's carbon emissions and help build new renewable energy facilities.
